Established to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Somogy Hills, this protected area highlights the coexistence of natural landscapes and traditional farming practices. The hills are characterized by ancient deciduous forests dominated by oak and hornbeam species, rich understories, and a variety of wildlife including deer, wild boar, and several rare bird species, such as the Eurasian eagle-owl and the black stork.
